Pool Chemicals Bromine Chlorine

pool chemicals bromine chlorine
how do I clean my pool without chlorine?

I’m looking for resources to maintain my swimming pool without toxic chemicals such as chlorine and bromine. Possibly UV technology?

There are alternative mineral “sanitizers”, most of which require a low residual of free chlorine. Using a mineral system also means you don’t use other chemicals, such as flocculant, clarifier or algaecide.

These mineral systems are often supplied with “non-chlorine” oxidizers or shocks. You may not need chlorine if you use one of these shocks, which are primarily oxygen-based persulfate compounds.

UV and ozone have often been cited as chlorine alternatives, but do in fact need either a mineral system backup or a chlorine residual (or both) to provide constant protection from algae and disease-causing pathogens that these systems cannot provide.

In summary: virtually all the chlorine alternatives still require some chlorine residual, or an oxidizer (bromine, persulfate, biguanide/ PHMB) to replace the chlorine.

I have tried many of the so-called alternatives and have found the best results with the Pool Wizard – extremely effective and a lot cheaper than most.
