Getting Pool Chemicals Just Right

getting pool chemicals just right
just opened our inground pool to a dark brown mess. It’s only been 2 days but no change in color.?

we had a mesh safety cover over the winter and due to amateur installation and idiot pool owners, “sewage” water was able to develop thru sitting leaves and rain water on a non-tight cover. After opening, we have been shocking and adding chlorine but the levels are not rising. we had gotten some leaves off the bottom of the pool but can’t see to clean it. could there be so many leaves that it’s eating the chemicals? Also, I thought i would have to backwash a lot because of the dirty water, but pressure remains fine on the filter. Is that right?

i own a pool company and first order of business is you have to get as many leaves out as you can (all of them) or as many as you can. then back wash filter every day.then you may have to use some algeacide plus brush walls and bottom after leaves are gone.this may take severals days. then shock pool on the third day running pool all the time. if you need more help jldailey2000@yahoo.com
