Is there any real danger in using regular shampoo in the pool? I am talking about chemically.?
No guesses please or stupid answers. I am looking at if there is any risk at all of the chlorine in the pool reacting with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate or any other chemicals in the shampoo to make dangerous fumes. Chemists out there?
Shampoo is mostly liquid soap or detergent. Sodium lauryl sulfate is the basis for detergents like Tide and is also used in many popular toothpastes to clean your teeth.
If you poured it into a pool you would get lots of bubbles from the pumps but no chemical woes. If it was just on your hair nothing would happen.
