Is it acceptable to wear shorts and shirt to the bathroom?

I want a modest swimsuit. I want to look modern, sporty and friendly. I do not want look weird. I've never been to the pool at my university in Canada for now. I want something that covers at least a little sleeve covers the back, breasts, abdomen and covers at least half of my thighs. So is it acceptable to use a Lycra swimming in a pool? tight shorts? Thank you.

In fact, shirts and shorts may be worse because they are very thin and the body shape will be through. A better solution is to use a bathing suit used (a piece) under the shirt and shorts. In this way, I guarantee you will feel comfortable in the pool.
