Which heat protector should i use before blowdrying and straightening? I use TREsemme shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair and that works good. and i wanted to know what heat protector i should use since i straighten my hair everyday using the remington shine therapy straightener. i’ve tried some protectors and they sometimes make my hair oily so i dont like to use them but i dont want to damage my hair. so what protector works the best and won’t make my hair oily?
TRESEMME HEAT TAMER SPRAY IS THE BEST!!
I sometimes spray it right on my roots and it will NEVER make your hair oily i promise!! It makes your hair soo shiny and smell reall good!!
and its only like 5$!!!
A really good heat protection spray for my hair, I have a really sensitive scalp?
And any other hair care recommendations for a sensitive scalp?
Thanks for any help, it’s really appreciated!
You could go all natural and soak your head and hair in olive oil and put a shower cap on. Leave it like this while you sleep then wash your hair in the morning. This is going to make your hair so silky and smooth. The oil will protect it from heat. There is a john frieda hair frizz/heatprotectant serum that comes in an orange bottle that you can purchase at walmart for 10 dollars. Also, if you have a sally hanson store near you, they have heat protectant serums there by the name of “protocol” they use all natural ingredients. I use that brand and it has done wonders for my hair. With a sally discount card the 200 mL bottle is 6.99 regular price is 10 dollars.
my hair when curly goes down to my shoulders.
I am in middle skool. so no old lady hair does.
i really dont mind straightening it.
but a heat protector for my hair wouldnt be bad are there any good ones? where? how much?
layers are good for wen it is straight.
It goes just below my shoulders.
i am dirty blonde.
any good hair care products for me is specific?
any anti friz protects?
websites are good.
I suggest you wear your hair naturally. It’s a lot easier and healthier. Long hair with long layers is probably the best cut (for straightened or natural hair). The layers will help with drying and untangling time. The hair will also hang better. However, DO NOT get short layers (they will stick up and look funny) or “thinning” with razors (that will make your ends ratty).
Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:
*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find ratings by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons
*Don’t shampoo every day.
*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.
*Never use a brush on dry hair, only untangle when the hair is wet.
*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.
*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don’t know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types
*Avoid terrycloth towels; use microfiber or t-shirts instead.
*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.
*Don’t touch (or brush!) your hair while it’s drying
For specific products for your hair type you’ll want to explore the forums at:
There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products.
If you want to run out and pick something up locally, I recommend trying LA Looks or Herbal essences gels (drugstore); Biotera gel and cream (Sally’s Beauty Supply); Suave Naturals/vo5 conditioners (really cheap); Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Condish (semi-cheap but super moisturizing; found at organics/specialty stores); red Cream of Nature shampoo (drugstore again); and L’oreal out of bed weightless texturizer (black tub, use under gel). These are all good things to try, and be sure to tinker around with amounts and how you use any products.
Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It’s pretty radical—no sulfates (shampoo) or silicones—but it’s so great for curly hair. Give it a shot and check it out:

Perfect! Nexxus is really good, and you can’t go wrong using it, but if you’re looking for something a bit cheaper (actually im not a 100% sure it is but anyway…) Pantene Pro-V has a really good one which I’ve been using for about a year now. : )
