What are good chemicals to use for a 18′ above ground intex pool?
We have tried the ones recommended and we cannot keep the chlorine levels high enough and algae continues to take over the pool. HELP!!
You need to add a ‘sanitizer stabilizer’. The active ingredient is cyanuric acid. I’m not a chemist but the best I can describe it is like sunscreen for your chlorine. Chlorine will quickly evaporate in the sun and this will stop it. You can pick this up an most places that sell pool supplies. The good part is you only need to add it when you fill the pool and maybe a small amount as water is lost and replaced from splash out.
Your chlorine demand should drop dramatically.
It takes a couple days for this stuff to disintegrate
What type of pool vacuum empties on the ground, I read this is the way to filter out undissolved chemicals???
I have an above ground intex pool, we are having issues with the chemicals not fully dissolving I read somewhere you should vacuum out the extra chemicals onto the ground, I dont understand ???? How can you do this???
Do you have a vacuum? Usually that does the trick. I’m not sure what kind of filter you have but if it has a backwash system then you should do that. I’m not sure what you are talking about. I’ve never heard of vacuum out extra chemicals onto the ground. IF you don’t have an automactic vacuumn then you have one that will backwash into your filter and shoots out of the filter. Good luck!
