A pool maintenance question!!?? Please help!?

How to lower the Bromine level!!??
I recently moved and the house that we bought has a pool.
I purchased a 6in1 test kit for the chemicals and I’ve got everything pretty cool to the “ok” level. Except for the Bromine, it’s VERY high and I’ve been trying to find out on the internet about how to lower the Bromine level, what do I use to lower it? I can’t seem to find anything other than when the Bromine level is high it will irratate your eyes when swimming, umm yes I agree, now what do I need to do!!!???
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
I don’t use Bromine. I use 3″ chlorine tabs. That’s what I don’t understand? Why is the Bromine level so high?

I dont understand why you are using bromine. Go to http://appliancequickfix.com/ and read the great page they have on pool water. I think your pool co talked you into using this product because its not popular and you would have to go back to them and still they cant answer your question?

Question about pool maintenance? Using PrestineBlue Start up kit?

We just got a swimming pool and we are using the PrestineBlue start up kit and the steps were to put some formula in today, and then 24 hours later we are supposed to put some other formula. can we swim withing those 24 hours? First day we put PrestineCheck, and then then 4-5 hours later we put PrestineExtra(Shock). Now tomarrow at the same time i put PrestineCheck i got to put PrestineBlue(Chlorine Type Stuff). Is it safe to swim withing those 24 hours that PrestineCheck is in?

Pristine Blue is a non chlorine style of pool maintenance, so the company claims. However, they use chlorine, so don’t think you are getting a chlorine free pool. The ingredients list contains dichloro-s in at least one of the additives, and this is nothing more than stabilized chlorine used in pools. The rest of the pool maintenance is done via metal ions. Please follow ALL the instructions and drain/refill the pool every three years or you are going to have some severe staining problems from the built up copper in the water.

Do not swim until the 24 hours is up. These chemicals can drop out of the water and stain the swimmers blue-green if you get into the pool at the wrong time. It’s best to follow the instructions to the letter to ensure the least amount of trouble using this ionization system.
