What is the average yearly cost to maintain a pool?
I am thinking about buying a house with a pool. However, I am concerned about the yearly maintenance costs. The pool is an average size “kidney” shaped pool. Thanks in advance!
I have had a pool The cost can be minimized by buying testing strips and basically adding the appropriate chemicals to get the PH where it needs to be I had a pool did this myself I bought the chemicals from Wal Mart. I opened in the spring with the help of the local pool company took in a sample of water and followed the recommendations they gave me. The rest of the summer I did the testing and adding of the proper chemicals myself. You will want to shock the pool at least once every 2 weeks maybe sooner. Having a pool is like having 4 kids and every kid has 3 pets. They are a lot of fun but a ton of work. I have sold my pool thank god it was above ground.The cost is dependant upon the size of the pool.
