I have a pair of ducks in my pool-male and female-should i hold off opening the pool? Are they going to mate?
my pool had mosquitos starting to amass on the cover. We thought maybe the ducks just wanted to eat them. But it is a week later and they are still here! I even have three cats, but the ducks stay up on the pool (it is above the ground)-The one duck is a green headed mallard and the other is brown speckled. I live on Long Island. I dont mind if they stay, I would just like to know how I can avoid hurting them and if they will leave in time for me to open the pool this summer and put chemicals in. Also, of they laid eggs, where would those be?
its a mating season! if is not inconvenient for you leave them there(! soon the eggs hatch they will be gone! but I believe that you gonna have to help and protect (from the cats) when she guide the duckling to the water!( the next 2 months maybe?)
