Does serum work as heat protection?

Hey, i have this frizz ease john ferida serum that says it contains a heat protectant, this alone will be enough to protect my hair straightners from? Or do i need to use a heat protection spray too, if so which order do i use them in? Thanks

If it already has heat protection in it then it is fine to use with straighteners without having to use a spray as well. You do not want to overload your hair with product that is not as good for it either.
