Pool Chemicals Test Kit

pool chemicals test kit
Pool rash…most likely culprit? Doctor in the house??!!?

It’s not the sun…but I break out all over every time I get in our pool!

For those of you who work in medicine or live somewhere pools and pool rashes are common. What chemical is most likely the reason I break out in our pool? What can I do to fix it, other than not go swimming?

Details: very small bumps, not too noticable till I start scratching 🙂 Starts on my arms but appears soon after on my legs, shoulders etc. It’s not the sun…it’s something in the pool. Our levels check perfectly with a home test kit and taking water sample to a pool store.
**The rash shows up the next day, never when I first get in the pool.

No one else in the house has this issue and some of them spend more time in the pool than I do.

HELP!!!

You didn’t mention how quickly the rash begins. If it starts very quickly after going into the water, then that would not be consistent with an allergic reaction. However, it still is consistent with an irritant reaction. If it’s an irritant, however, I’d expect every one who uses that pool to become irritated. There is the remote chance that you have a rare disorder: aquagenic urticaria. I know I’ve probably caused more quesstions than answers, but that’s the best I can do with the info that you provided.
