what is the best option to install a high outdoor privacy screen (about 7 meter height)?

My neighbour is building a high-set house with clear view (from their upstairs) to my daughter’s bedroom and backyard. Although we do have a fence (only about 1.2 meter height), I am concerned that when our kids are playing in the backyard or swimming in the pool, the neighbours can see clearly and we do not have any privacy. Is there any buidling product we can use to block the direct view from their house to our backyard? Such as outdoor screen about 7 meter height and 10 meter width, something that can stand alone vertically (not cover type like umbrella)? We do have curtains for the bedroom but we need something that can block their view to our backyard as well. We do have trees but not tally enough to block the view.

Ooh, I feel for you! Terrible to lose your privacy as well as feelings of safety πŸ™

Definitely check with your local zoning department; most have restrictions on the height of fences πŸ™

Green Pools?

Okay.
My pool is green.
It was crystal clear then over two days it just went green.
The pool guys came and said all the chemicals were correct.
Then we thought it wa the sand filter.
So we bought a brand new sand filter.
And guess what…The darn pool is still GREEN..

Any suggestions??
Or Anyone know what might be wrong?

Actually Grandma of 2 got it only partially right. You don’t need to add any algaecide to the pool and don’t add ANY chemicals until you get a proper analysis of the water performed.

Did the pool guys come out and give you a reading on the pool or just tell you they were “good”?

If possible take a sample of water down to your local pool store and have them test it. Make sure they test for the following:
Total chlorine
Free chlorine
Combined chlorine
pH
Alkalinity
Hardness
Cyanuric acid
Total dissolved solids
Metals
Phosphates

Bring the results back here and post them, or feel free to drop me a line at robandliz1992@yahoo.com for more in depth help.

Green doesn’t always mean algae, it probably is in this case, but it isn’t a guarantee until we can get the readings on the pool. Adding algaecide, shocks, or any other chemicals to your pool at this stage is dangerous unless we know exactly what’s causing the problem. Since we can’t see the pool we need to have the readings to determine what’s wrong. It really most likely is algae, but if it’s copper (which will green the water) then doing any of the suggestions on the answers above will not solve the problem and will make things much worse!

How can I protect my lawn from the weight of swimming pool?

We have just been given a 12ft swimming pool with filter, cover and chemicals.Hopefully we should be due a nice summer in the UK this year so it will get some use!
However we only have grass in our back garden and Im wondering what will happen to the grass if the weight of the swimming pool has been on it all summer.
Is there anything I can use to protect the grass.Obviously I know its going to turn very light green but will it die?
Should I maybe put the pool on some foam blocks first?

to avoid a stinking mess when you take the pool down, remove sod and put down sand…you wont believe the stench from a pool on grass all summer long…
